Indulge your class with writing an original poem to participate in a class
Poetry Slam Assignment!!!
Guidelines
The poem must be a minimum of 12 lines and must be written in the
format of a rhyming poem.
The student MUST use the first line of the poem they have chosen to start the poem. Students should decide on the theme, rhyme scheme, and tone in your poem.
Language
The student is responsible for including at least one example of at least 3 of the types of figurative language listed below in their poem:
Alliteration
Simile
Metaphor
Onomatopoeia
Personification
A list of poems are given & blank list for teachers who select their own poems.
